Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz have stressed joint efforts to counter attacks targeting the kingdom under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. The Munir Saudi defence minister meeting focused on security cooperation and the regional situation.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two leaders discussed the latest security developments during their meeting. They also reviewed attacks targeting Makkah al-Mukarramah, along with incidents involving civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Munir and Khalid bin Salman reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated efforts under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. They stressed the importance of continuing cooperation to address security threats targeting the kingdom within the framework of the pact.
The two sides also discussed the outcomes of a meeting involving chiefs of staff from countries participating in the Makkah pact. They expressed support for continued coordination among member countries to respond to security challenges under the agreement.
Regional security was another key issue discussed during the Munir Saudi defence minister meeting. The Pakistani and Saudi sides reviewed matters linked to defence cooperation and reaffirmed the importance of coordination between the two countries.
The Saudi delegation included Minister of State, Council of Ministers member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Oyayari. Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili and Defence Minister’s Adviser for Intelligence Affairs Professor Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif also attended.
Field Marshal Asim Munir was accompanied by a Pakistani delegation during the meeting. The discussions come as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue coordination on regional security and defence matters under their joint arrangements.
