Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the headquarters of the Islamabad Safe City Authority to review progress on transforming the system into a modern smart city project.
During the visit, the minister inspected ongoing renovation and upgradation work aimed at enhancing the overall efficiency of surveillance and monitoring systems.
Officials briefed him on the development of a state-of-the-art fusion center and a modern control room, which are key components of the upgraded Safe City infrastructure.
Mohsin Naqvi directed authorities to complete Phase II of the Safe City project within the stipulated timeline, emphasizing the importance of timely execution.
He stressed that the new control room must be aligned with the latest technological standards to ensure effective monitoring and rapid response capabilities.
The minister also highlighted plans to integrate all relevant departments onto a single platform, improving coordination among law enforcement and emergency services.
He added that the project will play a crucial role in enhancing security, urban management, and public safety in Islamabad, making it a model smart city for the country.
