LONDON: King Charles III met the Pakistan cricket team at his historic residence, Clarence House, where he interacted with the players and extended his best wishes for their upcoming matches.
Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was also present during the meeting. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipped Usman, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, prominent businessman Asif Rangoonwala and other notable figures also attended the gathering.
During the meeting, King Charles asked Mohsin Naqvi about the ongoing war involving Iran. The British monarch also expressed surprise that the conflict was still continuing and sought an update on the situation.
In response, Mohsin Naqvi described the situation as one that was moving “one step forward and one step backward.” His remarks reflected the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing developments and the rapidly changing situation.
King Charles also conveyed his best wishes to the Pakistan cricket team and encouraged the players ahead of their upcoming fixtures. The interaction provided an opportunity for the British monarch to engage directly with members of the Pakistani squad.
The King asked the players about their stay in the United Kingdom and also spoke to them about London’s weather. He showed interest in their fitness and recent performances, discussing their experience during the team’s current commitments in Britain.
