HIV cases in Pakistan children have raised serious public health concerns as official data reveals that more than 2,000 children were diagnosed with the virus over a period of 15 months across the country.
According to the Federal Ministry of Health’s Common Management Unit, the HIV cases in Pakistan children include 1,274 boys and 834 girls, highlighting a worrying spread among minors in different regions.
The data shows that the province of Sindh remains the most affected area, where 1,515 children were diagnosed during the same 15-month period. This includes 1,186 cases in 2025 and 329 cases in the first three months of 2026.
Officials noted that HIV cases in Pakistan children are not limited to one region, as Punjab reported 418 cases, making it the second most affected province after Sindh.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 111 children were diagnosed, including 90 cases in 2025 and 21 cases in early 2026, showing continued spread of the infection.
The report further states that Balochistan recorded 38 cases, while Islamabad reported 22 cases among children during the same period.
Smaller numbers were also recorded in Azad Kashmir with 3 cases and Gilgit-Baltistan with 1 reported case. Health experts stress the need for urgent intervention to control the rising HIV cases in Pakistan children.
