Pakistan and Kuwait have signed the Pak-Kuwait Protocol Agreement 2026 aimed at expanding defence cooperation between the two brotherly countries. According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence, the agreement will enable the Pakistan Army to provide assistance to Kuwait’s armed forces in several mutually agreed areas.
The agreement covers military training, capacity building, border management and other areas of defence cooperation agreed upon by both sides. The initiative is expected to provide greater opportunities for professional exchanges, training and the sharing of military expertise between the two countries.
A high-level Kuwaiti delegation led by Kuwait’s Defence Minister visited the Ministry of Defence as part of the engagement. The delegation included Lieutenant General Khaled Daraj Saad Al-Shreyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, along with other senior officials.
The Kuwaiti delegation held a meeting with Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. Discussions focused on bilateral defence relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait. Both sides also highlighted the importance of their longstanding relations.
The Kuwaiti delegation, headed by Sheikh Abdullah, also visited General Headquarters (GHQ), where the delegation met Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Defence and military cooperation between the two countries was discussed during the meeting.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding mutual defence cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait. The discussions also emphasized strengthening military ties and promoting cooperation based on shared interests.
