Federal government is expected to present Pakistan’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year on June 10, according to government sources. The budget announcement is anticipated to outline the country’s economic priorities, development plans, and fiscal targets for the next year.
Sources indicate that the National Assembly’s budget session is likely to be held on June 10 at 5:00 PM. Preparations for the crucial parliamentary proceedings are reportedly underway as lawmakers prepare to review the government’s financial proposals.
Officials have stated that summaries for convening sessions of both the National Assembly and the Senate have already been forwarded through the relevant channels. The move is considered a key procedural step before the formal presentation of the budget.
Earlier reports had suggested that the federal budget would be presented on June 5. However, the proposed schedule was later revised, leading to a delay in the budget announcement.
The meeting of the National Economic Council, which was initially scheduled for June 3, was also postponed. The council’s recommendations are regarded as an important component of the budget preparation process.
Government planners are expected to focus on economic growth, fiscal stability, and development spending in the upcoming budget. Analysts believe the budget will also address challenges related to inflation, investment, and public sector development.
According to available proposals, the federal budget may include a national development allocation exceeding Rs4 trillion. If approved, the funding would support infrastructure projects, economic development initiatives, and priority sectors across the country during the next fiscal year.
