Pakistan and Lebanon have agreed to strengthen Pakistan Lebanon ties by expanding cooperation in diplomacy, security and law enforcement. Lebanon’s Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar held meetings with senior Pakistani officials in Islamabad on Tuesday. The discussions focused on bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest.
Al-Hajjar met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also attended the meeting. Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
The two sides reviewed Pakistan Lebanon ties and discussed cooperation between their law enforcement agencies. They welcomed the signing of an agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons, describing it as an important step in bilateral legal cooperation. Regional and international developments were also discussed during the meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 received the Interior Minister of Lebanon, H.E. Ahmad Al-Hajjar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. DPM/FM was joined by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, and senior MoFA officers.
DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. He expressed the desire to further strengthen bilateral ties, including cooperation in law enforcement and people-to-people contacts.
The two Ministers discussed Pakistan-Lebanon relations and law-enforcement cooperation and welcomed the signing of the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons as an important milestone in bilateral legal cooperation.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Minister Al-Hajjar appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
Both expressed desire to further expanding bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Al-Hajjar appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability. He also congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. Both countries expressed interest in expanding cooperation across areas that serve their shared interests.
The Lebanese interior minister separately met Mohsin Naqvi at the Interior Ministry. Their discussions covered security cooperation and counter-terrorism. The two sides agreed to increase cooperation against terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal immigration, money laundering and cybercrime.
Pakistan and Lebanon also agreed to improve intelligence sharing against terrorist and drug networks. Cooperation between police academies was discussed, along with regional developments and Pakistan’s efforts to support lasting peace. The countries also agreed to fully implement an existing memorandum on counter-narcotics.
The two countries agreed to sign a new memorandum of understanding between their interior ministries and appoint focal persons to improve coordination. They also discussed a proposal for visa-free entry for diplomatic and official passport holders. The meetings are expected to further strengthen Pakistan Lebanon ties in security, diplomacy and people-to-people cooperation.
