Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to begin his four-day official trip to China on May 23 as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The PM Shehbaz Sharif China Visit comes at an important time as both countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations and aim to expand strategic and economic ties.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the visit will continue until May 26 and will focus on deepening the long-standing partnership between Islamabad and Beijing. Officials stated that both sides are expected to discuss regional developments, economic cooperation, and future collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During the PM Shehbaz Sharif China Visit, the prime minister will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. The high-level talks are expected to cover trade, investment, industrial growth, agriculture, information technology, science, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The Foreign Office also confirmed that CPEC development will remain a major topic during the discussions. Pakistan is seeking further cooperation in infrastructure, energy, and connectivity projects to support long-term economic growth and regional integration.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will first travel to Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, where he will attend and chair the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference. The conference will focus on information technology, telecom, battery energy storage systems, and modern agricultural cooperation.
In Beijing, the prime minister is also expected to attend a special reception hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The event will mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China and highlight decades of close cooperation.
Analysts believe the PM Shehbaz Sharif China Visit could open new opportunities for investment and strategic coordination between the two nations. The visit is also expected to strengthen political trust and further reinforce the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” shared by Pakistan and China.
