The Putin China visit is set to take place on May 19–20 as Russian President Vladimir Putin travels to Beijing for high-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral ties with China.
According to the Kremlin, Putin will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss ways to further enhance the “comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation” between Moscow and Beijing.
The visit comes shortly after United States President Donald Trump concluded his trip to China, adding further geopolitical significance to the timing of the Putin China visit.
During the meetings, both leaders are expected to exchange views on major international and regional issues, including ongoing global conflicts and economic cooperation.
The Kremlin said that a joint declaration is likely to be signed at the end of the talks, signaling continued alignment between Russia and China on key global matters.
Putin is also scheduled to hold discussions with Chinese Premier Li Qiang focusing on trade, energy cooperation, and broader economic ties, further deepening the Putin China visit agenda.
China remains one of Russia’s most important economic partners, especially amid Western sanctions, making this visit a key moment for reinforcing strategic and financial cooperation between the two countries.
