The head of United States Central Command Brad Cooper, has claimed that US strikes have destroyed nearly 90% of Iran’s defense industrial infrastructure.
In a recent statement, Admiral Cooper said Iran would take decades—or even centuries—to rebuild its military-industrial base and is no longer capable of launching large-scale attacks.
He further stated that Iran’s ability to supply weapons to regional groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis has been severely disrupted following the US strikes.
However, a contrasting report by The New York Times suggests a different picture.
According to the publication, classified intelligence assessments indicate that Iran still retains much of its missile capability despite the attacks.
This assessment contradicts claims made by the Trump administration, which had asserted that Iran’s military power had been significantly degraded.
The conflicting narratives have raised questions among analysts about the actual extent of damage and the evolving security situation in the region.
