Pakistan-Afghanistan border operation

26 Militants Killed in Pakistan-Afghanistan Border Operations, Says Attaullah Tarar

Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, has stated that security forces carried out limited operations against militant hideouts in areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, resulting in the deaths of 26 militants.

In a statement posted on X, Tarar said the operations followed a series of terrorist attacks in recent weeks. He referred to an attack on a Federal Constabulary checkpoint in Musa Darra on June 9, a vehicle-borne suicide bombing targeting a military post in North Waziristan on June 2, and a suicide attack on a police station in Bannu on May 9.

According to the minister, intelligence-based operations were launched against militant camps and safe havens located in border regions. He said the missions were conducted with precision and caution to minimize unintended consequences while targeting specific threats.

Tarar stated that four major targets were completely destroyed during the operations. These included a training facility, a covert hideout, and a weapons storage site allegedly used by militant groups operating in the region.

The minister further claimed that facilities linked to militant commanders Aleem Khan Khushhali and Akhtar Mohammad Jani Khel were among the locations targeted during the operation. He said the strikes disrupted networks involved in planning and supporting attacks.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism efforts, Tarar said security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating militant threats and maintaining stability across the country.
