Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to introduce additional facilities for citizens participating in the Apna Ghar Scheme, aiming to make the homeownership process more accessible and efficient. The instructions were issued during a review meeting chaired by the prime minister to assess the progress of the housing initiative.
During the meeting, officials briefed the prime minister on the achievements and ongoing developments of the Apna Ghar Scheme. The government was informed that a significant number of citizens have shown interest in the program, reflecting strong public demand for affordable housing opportunities.
Addressing the participants, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the growing participation of citizens in the scheme. He stated that if the initiative continues to progress at its current pace, the dream of homeownership could become a reality for many deserving families across the country.
The prime minister emphasized the need to further improve services and facilities for applicants. He instructed relevant departments to simplify procedures and ensure that citizens can easily access information and support throughout the application process.
In addition, Shehbaz Sharif directed banks to accelerate the approval process for eligible applications submitted under the Apna Ghar Scheme. He stressed that unnecessary delays should be avoided so that qualified applicants can receive financing and move forward with their housing plans without difficulty.
Separately, the prime minister approved a strategic roadmap aimed at introducing comprehensive reforms in Pakistan’s railway sector. The plan focuses on improving operational efficiency, modernizing infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of services provided to passengers and businesses.
Shehbaz Sharif also called for greater private-sector participation in Pakistan Railways through public-private partnerships. He said increased investment from private stakeholders would help strengthen the railway network, boost economic activity, and provide better transportation services for the public.
