Trump Oman Strait of Hormuz

Trump Threatens Oman With ‘Heavy Bombing’ Over Hormuz

US President Donald Trump has threatened Oman with “heavy bombing” if Muscat interferes with US efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The Trump Oman Strait of Hormuz dispute comes amid escalating tensions with Iran.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump warned that Oman could face military action if it obstructed American efforts concerning the strategic waterway. He also said the United States retains substantial military resources for the ongoing conflict.

Trump claimed Washington has “vast reserves of weapons” and has used only a small portion of its available capabilities. He specifically pointed to the availability of medium-range weapons as tensions continue to rise across the region.

The US president also called on Iran to surrender and “wave the white flag.” Trump said he was not in a hurry to end the conflict. He further claimed that his administration had established a back channel for direct communication with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The Trump Oman Strait of Hormuz tensions come as Oman continues diplomatic efforts involving Iran and the United States. Iran said last week that it was holding discussions with Oman over reopening the strategically important waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a major flashpoint because it is vital for global energy supplies and commercial shipping. Reports have indicated progress toward a possible arrangement aimed at restoring commercial maritime traffic through the strait.

Oman has played a diplomatic role in efforts to reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran. Any agreement concerning the Trump Oman Strait of Hormuz dispute could have wider implications for regional security, energy markets and international shipping.
