Iran warns Gulf countries

Iran Warns Gulf Countries Against Assisting US Military

Iran warns Gulf countries against providing assistance or facilities to the US military, saying such support could amount to participation in American military operations. The warning was issued by Iran’s armed forces on Wednesday amid heightened regional tensions and growing concerns over possible military escalation.

Iranian armed forces chief of staff Ali Abdollahi delivered the warning, according to Iran’s Mehr news agency. He said Gulf countries should carefully consider the consequences of providing any form of support to US forces involved in military activities against Iran.

The statement specifically focused on assistance or facilitation provided to the United States. Iran warns Gulf countries that even indirect support could be viewed as involvement in US military operations, potentially making those countries parties to the conflict.

The warning comes as tensions between Iran and the United States remain high. The wider Middle East has also faced increased security concerns, with governments across the Gulf closely monitoring developments and assessing the potential impact of any further military confrontation.

Iran’s message could place additional pressure on Gulf states, many of which maintain security partnerships with Washington while also seeking to avoid becoming directly involved in regional conflicts. Any expansion of military activity could create wider political, economic and security risks for countries in the region.

Abdollahi’s remarks did not identify specific Gulf countries or detail what forms of assistance Iran would consider participation. However, the warning indicates that Tehran is closely watching US military movements and the role of regional states during the current period of heightened tensions.

The latest warning underscores the sensitivity of the regional security environment and highlights Iran’s opposition to any support for US military operations. Gulf governments will now face increased scrutiny as they balance their relationships with Washington with efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.
