Sohail Afridi KP Chief Minister position remains secure, according to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, as party chairman Barrister Gohar dismissed ongoing speculation about internal divisions. He said efforts to remove or weaken the chief minister would fail.
Speaking to media in Peshawar, Barrister Gohar stated that Sohail Afridi was nominated as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by PTI founder Imran Khan. He added that Afridi is performing well in his administrative responsibilities.
Reinforcing party unity, Barrister Gohar said Sohail Afridi KP Chief Minister will continue in his role and that those running campaigns against him will face disappointment. He stressed that there is no internal split within PTI.
The PTI chairman further clarified that Sohail Afridi enjoys full support from the party leadership. He rejected claims of any forward bloc within PTI, calling such reports inaccurate and politically motivated.
The remarks come amid rising political discussion after PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat announced plans to challenge Sohail Afridi’s appointment as KP Chief Minister, creating speculation about internal disagreements.
However, Barrister Gohar firmly stated that Sohail Afridi KP Chief Minister remains the party’s chosen leader in the province. He emphasized that PTI stands united and focused on governance and political stability.
As political tensions continue, PTI leadership insists that Sohail Afridi KP Chief Minister will remain in office with full backing, while opposition voices within the party are expected to have no impact.
