Army Officer Martyred, Five Terrorists Killed During Razmak IBO Operation

A Pakistan Army officer was martyred while five terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Razmak area on Saturday. The Razmak IBO operation was conducted by security forces in North Waziristan after receiving information about the presence of militants.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation targeted members of the banned Fitna Al Khawarij, which the military uses to refer to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Security forces engaged the militants effectively, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists.

The ISPR said Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi, aged 34 and a resident of Mianwali district, was leading his troops from the front when he embraced martyrdom during an intense exchange of fire. The military praised his courage, leadership, and dedication to duty.

Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorists, who were described as being involved in multiple attacks against security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and civilians. A sanitisation operation was launched to clear the area of any remaining threats.

The armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative. Officials said security agencies would continue efforts to eliminate militant networks and protect the country from security threats.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi and praised the efforts of security forces. They highlighted the sacrifices of military personnel and appreciated their role in maintaining national security.

The Razmak IBO operation comes amid continued security challenges in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where militant attacks have increased in recent months. Authorities say intelligence-based operations remain a key strategy to counter terrorism and improve public safety.
