During a recent interview with Mirchi UAE, Aslam was asked what gives Coke Studio Pakistan an advantage over its Indian counterpart. The singer responded with one simple word: “magic.”
Aslam said compositions on both sides are good but argued that Indian music lacks some of the rawness found in Pakistani productions. He said Coke Studio Bharat places too much focus on commercialism.
The singer explained that Atif Aslam Coke Studio experiences have shaped his appreciation for original compositions. According to him, Pakistani Coke Studio allows a small group of musicians to develop compositions while performers can bring their own style and creativity.
Aslam has been an important part of Coke Studio Pakistan over the years. His performances include the Sufi classic Tajdar-e-Haram, Wohi Khuda Hai and several modern pop-fusion tracks that have gained millions of views and listeners.
The singer also has a strong connection with Indian audiences. He became widely known in Bollywood after singing Woh Lamhe from Zeher in 2005. He later performed several successful Hindi songs, including Tere Bin, Pehli Nazar Mein, Tu Jaane Na and Dil Diyan Gallan.
