The issue of alleged irregularities in government recruitment in Balochistan has once again come into the spotlight after serious allegations were raised regarding the distribution of posts in the Forest Department.
Balochistan Food Minister Noor Muhammad has alleged that government positions in the Forest Department are being sold for large sums of money. According to him, posts are allegedly being offered for Rs10 million, Rs15 million and Rs20 million.
The minister’s allegations have renewed concerns about transparency and merit in public-sector recruitment across the province. Such claims have also raised questions about whether deserving candidates are being denied opportunities in government departments.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has ordered an investigation following complaints of alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for approximately 300 vacant positions. The inquiry is expected to examine the complaints and determine whether recruitment rules and merit-based procedures were followed.
The development comes as the provincial administration faces growing pressure to ensure transparency in appointments. Government jobs remain highly sought after in Balochistan, making allegations of recruitment manipulation particularly sensitive.
Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has also taken a strong position on the issue. He reportedly obtained an oath from administrative secretaries of provincial departments, requiring them to ensure that government jobs are not bought or sold under their watch.
