India have set Pakistan a target of 212 runs in the Asian Games cricket final being played in Nishin, Japan. After winning the toss, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer elected to bat first, putting his side in a strong position before Pakistan began the chase.
India made an aggressive start as Abhishek Sharma and Suryavanshi opened the innings. Suryavanshi scored 15 runs from nine deliveries before departing, while Abhishek Sharma produced an explosive 61 off just 28 balls to keep the Indian scoring rate high.
Ishan Kishan contributed 21 runs before losing his wicket, while Tilak Varma continued the attacking approach with an impressive innings. Varma reached his half-century in only 20 deliveries, providing India with valuable momentum during the middle and final stages of the innings.
India eventually finished their 20 overs at 211 for six. For Pakistan, Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal claimed two wickets each, while Abrar Ahmed and Saim Ayub picked up one wicket apiece. Pakistan will now need 212 runs to win the Asian Games cricket final.
Pakistan are being led by Sahibzada Farhan, with one change made to the playing XI for the final. Saad Masood has replaced Wasim Junior. India, meanwhile, have retained the same combination that featured in the tournament.
