Pakistan’s role in Iran-US conflict will be remembered for generations, according to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. Speaking to reporters in Sialkot, he praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and said the country successfully promoted peace during a period of heightened regional tensions.
The minister addressed the media on the occasion of Ashura, saying the day coincided with a difficult period for the Middle East. He remarked that the sacrifices associated with Karbala continue to inspire Muslim nations during times of conflict and uncertainty.
Highlighting the Pakistan role in Iran-US conflict, Khawaja Asif said Islamabad worked to encourage dialogue and reduce tensions. He stated that Pakistan’s efforts helped support peace initiatives and strengthened its standing among Muslim countries.
The defence minister added that Pakistan emerged with dignity by advocating diplomacy instead of confrontation. He said the country’s constructive approach reflected its commitment to regional stability and peaceful conflict resolution.
Khawaja Asif also referred to the humanitarian situation in Lebanon. He expressed hope that the Lebanese people would find relief from ongoing violence and prayed for peace and security across the region.
He further said Muslims facing hardship in different parts of the world deserve freedom, justice, and lasting peace. According to the minister, unity among Muslim countries remains essential for addressing common regional challenges.
