Lebanese Commander Chief meets Field Marshal Asim Munir, discusses important issues

Pakistan and Lebanon have agreed to further strengthen defense ties and expand military cooperation following a high-level meeting between senior military leaders in Rawalpindi. The discussions focused on regional security, professional military collaboration, and future training opportunities between the armed forces of both countries.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haykal, visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where he was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honor presented by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.

During the visit, General Haykal met with Field Marshal Asim Munir. The two military leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security environment, and ways to enhance defense cooperation between Pakistan and Lebanon.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening professional military relationships and increasing collaboration in training programs. Both sides expressed their desire to expand existing avenues of cooperation and develop closer institutional ties between their armed forces.

Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the significance of the long-standing and cordial relationship between Pakistan and Lebanon. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to broadening defense engagement and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.

General Rodolphe Haykal praised the professionalism, operational readiness, and capabilities of Pakistan’s military. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting regional peace and stability through its defense and security efforts.

The ISPR stated that both countries recognized the value of Pakistan’s contributions to international peace missions and expressed a shared commitment to further strengthening military cooperation.
