Sources said the government is also considering a rotation system for government employees. Under this arrangement, employees could work on different days rather than reporting to offices throughout the week. The proposal could help reduce the number of people travelling to workplaces each day.
The petroleum smart lockdown proposal also includes possible changes to market operations. Authorities are considering closing markets for three days a week. Changes to business hours are also under discussion as part of efforts to reduce movement and fuel consumption.
