Pakistan Forces Kill 18 Militants in KP, Balochistan

Pakistan’s security forces operations in Pakistan have resulted in the deaths of 18 militants during separate actions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operations.

Security sources said forces targeted militant hideouts in North Waziristan and surrounding areas under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework. The operations were conducted against what the sources described as Fitna al-Khawarij militants.

According to the sources, 13 militants were killed during an operation in North Waziristan. Security personnel targeted the militants’ positions as part of ongoing efforts to counter armed groups operating in the region.

A separate operation was also carried out in Mastung, Balochistan, against militants described by security sources as belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan. Five militants were reportedly killed during the action.

The sources said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants following the operations. Clearance activities are continuing in the affected areas as security personnel search for any remaining threats and possible militant hideouts.

President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for their operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the forces and said operations would continue until terrorism is eliminated and lasting peace is established.

The latest security forces operations in Pakistan come as authorities continue efforts against militant groups in different parts of the country. The government has described such operations as part of its broader commitment to addressing security threats and maintaining peace.
