Pakistan and Libya have agreed to strengthen Pakistan Libya trade ties while expanding cooperation in education and business. The understanding came during a meeting between senior officials from both countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar met Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening friendly relations with Libya.
The two officials also exchanged views on regional and global developments. Their discussions included the changing situation in the Middle East and its wider implications for countries in the region.
The meeting also covered the impact of the Middle East situation on regional peace, energy supplies and the global economy. The officials discussed the economic challenges faced by developing countries because of developments in the region.
The Pakistan Libya trade ties discussions also highlighted opportunities to expand economic and commercial cooperation. Both sides agreed on the importance of stronger business connections and greater cooperation in education between the two countries.
Libya’s acting foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability. Dar said dialogue and diplomacy remained the only viable means of addressing regional challenges and resolving disputes.
Dar also called on all parties to return to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to promote regional stability. The latest discussions reflect efforts by Pakistan and Libya to strengthen bilateral cooperation while maintaining diplomatic engagement on regional issues.
