Ishaq Dar Discusses Regional Situation With Saudi, Turkish FMs

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with the Saudi and Turkish foreign ministers on Friday. The discussions focused on regional developments, matters of mutual interest and upcoming diplomatic engagements.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Dar spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The talks covered the changing situation in the region and issues of common concern between the three countries.

During his conversation with Prince Faisal, Ishaq Dar congratulated Saudi Arabia on the election of Mauritanian diplomat Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed as the new secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

The two foreign ministers also reviewed regional developments and discussed other matters of mutual interest. They exchanged views on preparations and issues related to the upcoming R4 meeting, according to the Foreign Office.

Dar and the Saudi foreign minister agreed to maintain close contact and continue consultations on important regional and diplomatic matters. The two sides also discussed the importance of continued coordination amid changing developments in the region.

Later, Ishaq Dar held a separate telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The two officials reviewed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on matters of shared interest.

The Pakistani and Turkish foreign ministers also discussed upcoming diplomatic contacts and engagements, including the next R4 meeting. Ishaq Dar and Fidan agreed to remain engaged as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye continue consultations on regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
