PM Shehbaz Congratulates Iraq’s New Prime Minister

Pakistan Iraq relations received renewed attention as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Iraq’s newly appointed leader and expressed optimism for stronger bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In a message shared on social media, Shehbaz Sharif extended his best wishes to Iraq’s new Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, praising his appointment and wishing success in his new responsibilities.

The prime minister emphasized that Pakistan looks forward to working closely with the new Iraqi government. He said enhanced cooperation could help strengthen Pakistan Iraq relations in areas of shared interest.

According to Shehbaz Sharif, both countries can benefit from deeper engagement aimed at promoting regional peace, stability, and economic prosperity. He highlighted diplomacy as a key tool for mutual progress.

Pakistan and Iraq have historically maintained friendly ties, particularly in political and religious cooperation. The latest message reflects Islamabad’s intent to further expand diplomatic and economic connections.

Meanwhile, international reactions also followed Iraq’s leadership change. Former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly expressed support for the new Iraqi leadership, highlighting global attention on the development.

Observers believe that improved Pakistan Iraq relations could open new opportunities for trade, investment, and regional coordination in the Middle East and South Asia.
