Prime Minister Special Relief Scheme

Prime Minister Special Relief Scheme Launched Nationwide, Rs100 Per Litre Petrol Relief

The Prime Minister’s Special Relief Scheme has been launched across Pakistan, providing eligible consumers with relief of up to Rs100 per litre on petrol. The initiative has been introduced to reduce the financial pressure caused by higher fuel prices and provide direct assistance to users of motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi vehicles and small cars.

Under the scheme, motorcycle, rickshaw and Qingqi users can receive a relief token worth Rs500 for a one-week period. The government has also removed the minimum five-litre purchase requirement, allowing consumers buying less than five litres of petrol to receive the full Rs500 relief through a single token.

According to the scheme’s mechanism, eligible users will receive one token every week, with a maximum of four tokens available during a month. The measure is aimed at making the fuel relief more accessible to people who purchase petrol in smaller quantities due to their daily financial needs.

Owners of vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc are also eligible for a petrol discount of Rs100 per litre. Under this arrangement, eligible users can receive the discount on up to 10 litres of petrol every 10 days. Three tokens of 10 litres each will be issued to eligible users during a month.

The government has established a digital mechanism for the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Special Relief Scheme. Eligible consumers are required to complete the registration process before receiving the benefit, while the token system is being used to manage the distribution of the fuel subsidy.

The government has also expanded the eligibility criteria for certain vehicles to ensure that more people can benefit from the initiative. Motorcycles, rickshaws and Qingqi vehicles meeting the revised eligibility requirements can be registered for the scheme, widening its potential reach among lower-income and daily-use fuel consumers.
