Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed their commitment to expanding Pakistan Russia bilateral cooperation during a meeting held in Manila ahead of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting.
The two foreign ministers reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Russia relations and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation across several sectors. They agreed to enhance collaboration in trade, energy, connectivity and other areas of mutual interest to further deepen bilateral ties.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of sustained high-level engagement in promoting the growing partnership between Islamabad and Moscow. They noted that regular exchanges between senior officials would help accelerate progress on shared priorities.

Dar and Lavrov also discussed coordination at multilateral forums, highlighting the need for closer cooperation on issues of common concern. They agreed to continue working together through regional and international platforms.
The discussions also covered key regional and global developments. Both sides exchanged views on evolving geopolitical issues and emphasized the value of dialogue in addressing shared challenges facing the region.
According to the official statement, the two ministers agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on bilateral as well as international matters. The meeting reflected both countries’ intention to maintain momentum in their diplomatic engagement.
Pakistan and Russia have steadily expanded cooperation in recent years, particularly in trade, energy and regional connectivity. Wednesday’s meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both governments to further strengthen Pakistan Russia bilateral cooperation through regular dialogue and practical collaboration.
