The Nepal flood death toll has risen to 270, while more than 500 tourists remain missing after a sudden flood hit Rasuwa district. Rescue teams are continuing search operations in affected areas.
The flash flood struck the district on Wednesday, causing widespread destruction and leaving hundreds of people unaccounted for. Authorities have deployed rescue teams to locate missing tourists and assist those affected by the disaster.
Nepal’s tourism authorities said more than 400 foreign nationals are among those reported missing. The missing include 142 Indians, 54 Americans, 34 Australians and 33 British citizens.
The list also includes 24 Canadians, 17 Malaysians and 53 Ukrainians. Several nationals from South Korea, South Africa, Portugal and the Netherlands are also reportedly missing.
The Nepal flood has caused serious damage in affected areas and complicated rescue efforts. Authorities are working to reach isolated locations and gather information about people who remain unaccounted for.
Meanwhile, Chinese state media reported that 558 people were missing after landslides in Gyirong, Tibet, near the Nepal-China border. The missing reportedly include 260 foreign nationals, while three people have died in related incidents.
Floods and landslides have also damaged homes, roads and power projects in the border region. Rescue operations remain underway as authorities in Nepal and China continue efforts to locate missing people and assess the overall damage.
