Senate Health Committee to Meet at PIMS Hospital on Monday

The Senate Health Committee has decided to hold its meeting at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Monday. The decision was taken after the committee’s visit to the hospital.

Committee Chairman Amir Chishti told Geo News that members would hold the scheduled meeting at PIMS following their visit to the facility. The meeting will focus on developments related to the recent incident at the hospital.

Chishti said the inquiry committee’s report is also expected to be available by Monday. Members will review the findings in detail during the Senate committee meeting.

The Senate Health Committee is expected to examine the report and discuss the circumstances surrounding the incident. Members may also consider the findings while reviewing the hospital’s safety and administrative arrangements.

The decision to meet at PIMS will allow committee members to assess the situation at the hospital directly. The visit is also expected to help lawmakers better understand the issues highlighted during the inquiry.

Chishti said senators from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have also been invited to attend the meeting. Their participation would allow members from different political groups to contribute to the committee’s discussion.

The Senate Health Committee meeting comes amid increased attention on safety arrangements at PIMS. The detailed review of the inquiry report could help determine further steps and recommendations regarding hospital safety and management.
