Naseem Shah fined PKR 2 crore for PCB contract breach

Lahore, March 30, 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a PKR 2 crore fine on fast bowler Naseem Shah for violating terms of his Central Contract and the PCB Social Media Guidelines. The decision follows a show-cause notice and a disciplinary committee hearing evaluating Naseem’s actions and response.

The PCB had issued a notice on March 27, 2026, outlining alleged breaches and requested Naseem’s explanation. Following his reply, a three-member Disciplinary Committee conducted a personal hearing on March 30, 2026, to review the matter thoroughly.

After examining Naseem Shah’s submissions, the committee acknowledged his unconditional apology but confirmed violations of multiple clauses of his Central Contract. Consequently, the fine of PKR 2 crore was imposed to uphold contractual accountability.

The board also noted that Naseem had terminated his social media adviser, who will be blacklisted by the PCB from working with any player under its jurisdiction. This measure reinforces the board’s commitment to professional conduct and responsible representation of players online.

The PCB emphasized its ongoing dedication to maintaining professional standards, contractual compliance, and the integrity of cricket in Pakistan, ensuring that all players adhere to established rules and guidelines.
