Afghanistan United Front Announces Armed Campaign Against Taliban

The Afghanistan United Front Against Taliban has entered a new phase after its chairman and former Afghan general, Sami Sadat, announced the start of armed operations against the Taliban administration. The announcement has drawn attention to the evolving security situation in Afghanistan.

In a video statement, General Sami Sadat said that the first phase of military operations had been authorized. According to him, the campaign will focus on Taliban members, military positions, and leadership targets as part of an organized resistance effort.

Appearing in an Afghan military uniform, Sadat stated that his group’s mission extends beyond fighting the Taliban. He said the organization also intends to oppose al-Qaeda, the Islamic State (ISIS), Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and other militant groups that threaten regional stability.

The former general argued that nearly five years of Taliban rule have demonstrated that efforts to reach a political settlement through negotiations have not produced the desired results. He claimed that the resistance movement believes military action has become necessary under the current circumstances.

Sadat also called on Afghans living inside the country and abroad to unite in support of the movement. He said the group’s objective is to establish an Afghanistan free from repression and governed through constitutional principles rather than force.

According to the statement, the Afghanistan United Front seeks the restoration of the 2004 Constitution, adherence to international humanitarian law, and a constitutional political framework supported through a traditional Loya Jirga process. The group says these principles are central to its long-term vision for the country.

General Sami Sadat concluded by appealing to the United States, NATO, and the wider international community for political and material assistance while emphasizing that the movement is not seeking the return of foreign troops or military bases in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan United Front Against Taliban announcement represents a significant political and security development, although the claims and operational details have not been independently verified.
