China Moldova Talks Focus on Trade and Green Energy Cooperation

China has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Moldova during high-level talks in Beijing. The meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi focused on expanding bilateral cooperation under the China Moldova Relations framework.

According to a statement issued by China’s Foreign Ministry, the discussions took place on Thursday and were officially reported on Friday. Both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation and explored new opportunities to deepen economic and diplomatic engagement.

A key focus of the China Moldova Relations talks was the expansion of trade and investment between the two countries. Wang Yi emphasized the importance of strengthening economic exchanges to support mutual development and long-term stability.

Both ministers also highlighted emerging sectors such as green energy and the digital economy. China encouraged Moldova to explore joint projects in renewable energy, technology innovation, and digital infrastructure development to support sustainable growth.

In addition to economic cooperation, the two sides discussed cultural and educational exchanges. These include student programs, tourism development, and youth engagement initiatives aimed at improving people-to-people connections.

Wang Yi noted that enhancing cooperation in diverse sectors would help build stronger and more balanced China Moldova Relations, while also contributing to broader international collaboration and regional connectivity.

Analysts say the meeting reflects China’s ongoing efforts to expand diplomatic and economic partnerships in Europe, particularly with smaller nations, as part of its broader global engagement strategy.
