Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina has won the US Open tennis title after defeating Belarusian world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final. The victory marks a major achievement for Rybakina on one of tennis’s biggest stages.
According to media reports, Rybakina defeated Sabalenka 2-1 in sets in the championship match. The final produced a highly competitive contest, with Rybakina eventually securing the victory and lifting the prestigious Grand Slam trophy.
Following her defeat, Sabalenka appeared visibly frustrated and broke her racket in anger. Her actions could result in a substantial financial penalty under tournament rules, with reports suggesting that the racket incident could lead to a fine of up to $50,000.
