LAHORE: Former National Assembly member and former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab president Hamad Azhar has been arrested by police, according to police sources.
Sources said Azhar was taken into custody in Multan and subsequently handed over to Lahore police.
According to police officials, Azhar is wanted in several cases related to the May 9, 2023 incidents.
Police sources said the former PTI leader had been declared a proclaimed offender since May 9, 2023, and had remained in hiding for an extended period.
Azhar had briefly appeared in public following the death of his father but reportedly went into hiding again afterward.
