Miami to Host Grand Pakistan Independence Day Celebration on August 14

The Pakistani community in Miami is preparing to celebrate Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a grand event on August 14 at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. The celebration is being organized under the leadership of Islamic Center President Mian Tahir Ismail, prominent community leader and businessman Chaudhry Shaukat Ali, and Dr. M.A. Shahzad.

The event aims to bring together Pakistani-Americans from across South Florida to celebrate Pakistan’s independence with patriotism and cultural pride. Organizers say the gathering will highlight the strong bond overseas Pakistanis continue to share with their homeland despite living abroad.

A special tribute will be paid to the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and other national heroes whose vision and sacrifices played a vital role in the creation of Pakistan. The ceremony will include patriotic messages reflecting on the country’s history and national achievements.

The cultural program will feature performances by renowned Pakistani singer Humaira Arshad, along with Khalid Baig, Meera Mir, and other artists. The performers are expected to entertain the audience with patriotic songs, cultural performances, and musical presentations celebrating Pakistan’s heritage.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mian Tahir Ismail, Chaudhry Shaukat Ali, and Dr. M.A. Shahzad said overseas Pakistanis remain emotionally connected to their homeland. They emphasized that although they live in different parts of the world, their commitment to Pakistan’s prosperity, stability, and progress remains unwavering.

The organizers expressed hope for a peaceful, united, and economically strong Pakistan. They said the Pakistani-American community continues to support the country’s development and believes that Pakistan will overcome challenges and move toward greater prosperity in the years ahead.

Preparations for the Independence Day celebrations are already in full swing, with a large turnout expected from Pakistani-American families across South Florida. Organizers believe the event will strengthen community ties, promote Pakistani culture, and provide an opportunity for younger generations to celebrate their heritage while honoring the nation’s journey since independence.
