Norwegian Foreign Minister to Visit Pakistan on August 13-14

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will visit Pakistan on August 13 and 14 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to the Foreign Office.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister visit to Pakistan will mark the first visit by a Norwegian foreign minister to the country in a decade. The visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to bilateral relations.

During his stay, Eide and Ishaq Dar will lead delegation-level discussions covering a wide range of Pakistan-Norway relations. The talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Trade and investment are expected to be among the key subjects discussed during the Norwegian Foreign Minister visit to Pakistan. The two sides will also explore opportunities to expand economic cooperation.

Climate change, renewable energy and education will also feature in the discussions. Both countries are expected to examine ways to develop practical cooperation in these areas while promoting stronger people-to-people contacts.

The Norwegian and Pakistani sides will also exchange views on important regional and international developments. The discussions are expected to cover issues of shared interest and broader developments affecting both countries.

The visit follows sustained high-level engagement between Pakistan and Norway. The two foreign ministers held telephone conversations in March and April, while Norwegian State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik visited Islamabad in May.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister visit to Pakistan is expected to strengthen longstanding bilateral relations and identify new areas for mutually beneficial cooperation. The Foreign Office said the visit would further deepen the cordial ties between the two countries.
