Pakistan strongly criticized India during a debate at the United Nations Security Council, accusing New Delhi of supporting terrorism and violating human rights in occupied Kashmir. Pakistan’s Counsellor Saima Saleem delivered the statement during discussions on regional security and terrorism.
Speaking at the UN session, Saima Saleem said India has been involved in exporting terrorism across the region through proxy groups. She claimed that organizations including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and Majeed Brigade are operating as proxies backed by India.
The Pakistani diplomat also highlighted the situation in occupied Kashmir, alleging that civilians are facing killings, arrests, and forced displacement. She said human rights violations in the disputed territory continue to raise serious international concerns.
Saima Saleem further stated that minorities in India, especially Muslims, are facing increasing discrimination and oppression. According to her remarks, religious intolerance and violence against minority communities have become a growing issue within India.
During the debate, Pakistan also raised concerns regarding cross-border terrorism originating from Afghan territory. The Pakistani representative stated that attacks were planned and facilitated from Afghan soil, posing serious security challenges for Pakistan.
Responding to recent accusations from the Taliban administration, Saima Saleem described the allegations against Pakistan as part of a misleading campaign. She stressed that Pakistan remains committed to regional peace and counterterrorism cooperation.
