The Pakistan Hockey Federation has invited South Korea to play a four-match Test series in Pakistan as part of preparations for the upcoming Hockey World Cup.
PHF President Mohyuddin Wani shared the update during a media appearance, stating that discussions are currently in the early stages.
He expressed hope that the series could take place in the last week of July, depending on the successful conclusion of ongoing negotiations between both sides.
Wani also noted that the venues for the matches have not yet been finalized. A decision will be made later on whether all matches will be held in a single city or across multiple cities.
He emphasized that hosting South Korea would mark a significant step toward reviving international hockey in Pakistan, opening a new chapter for the sport in the country.
The Pakistan national field hockey team aims to use the series as preparation before departing for the Hockey World Cup scheduled from August 15 to 30.
Currently, Pakistan is ranked 12th in the world, while South Korea holds the 20th position in international rankings.
It is noteworthy that South Korea has not qualified for the upcoming Hockey World Cup, which will be hosted in Belgium and Netherlands.
