Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a special message on Ashura, saying the day serves as a timeless reminder of patience, perseverance, sacrifice, truth, and unwavering commitment to principles. He said the sacrifices made at Karbala continue to inspire people to uphold justice and moral values.
The Prime Minister stated that the tragedy of Karbala is not merely a historical event but a lasting lesson for humanity. According to him, the incident highlights the importance of protecting truth, justice, and ethical principles, which form the foundation of a peaceful and civilized society.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to strengthen justice, tolerance, and social responsibility in everyday life. He said Pakistan must promote mutual respect and national unity instead of allowing differences, hatred, and division to weaken society.
He also called upon religious scholars, spiritual leaders, speakers, and the media to highlight the true message of Ashura. The Prime Minister urged all segments of society to encourage inter-sect harmony, discourage hate speech, and work together to maintain peace and stability across the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari also released a message on the occasion, stating that Ashura teaches patience, resilience, sacrifice, truthfulness, and steadfastness in the face of challenges. He described the events of Karbala as an enduring source of guidance for people across generations.
The President said the tragedy of Karbala represents more than a historical incident, calling it a living lesson that continues to inspire justice, courage, and moral integrity. He urged citizens to promote an atmosphere of peace, tolerance, mutual respect, and brotherhood during Ashura and beyond.
