PSX KSE-100 Index Rebounds Nearly 1,380 Points Before Friday Trading Suspension

The PSX KSE-100 Index staged a strong recovery during the first half of Friday’s trading session, gaining nearly 1,380 points before trading was suspended for the weekly Friday prayer break. The benchmark index reflected renewed investor confidence despite continued geopolitical uncertainty in the region.

The KSE-100 Index climbed 1,378 points, or 0.79%, to 176,926 before the temporary suspension. The market opened on a positive note and touched an intraday high of 177,108.66, while finding support near 176,405.33 during the morning session.

Trading activity remained healthy as investors participated in selective buying across key sectors. By midday, trading volume reached 101.86 million shares, while the total value of traded shares stood at approximately Rs6.96 billion. The previous session had ended with the benchmark index closing at 175,547.98.

Market analysts said the rebound in the PSX KSE-100 Index followed recent sessions marked by volatility driven by regional geopolitical developments and fluctuations in international oil prices. Investors appeared to regain confidence after Thursday’s decline.

Despite reports of heightened tensions in the Middle East, including Iranian claims of drone strikes targeting US military facilities in Kuwait, domestic investors continued selective buying. Market participants largely focused on local opportunities while monitoring international developments.

Broader market indicators also remained positive during the morning session. The All-Share Index posted gains alongside other key benchmarks, although trading activity remained relatively moderate because of the shortened Friday session before the prayer break.

Trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange was scheduled to resume after Friday prayers. Investors are expected to closely watch domestic economic indicators, corporate developments, and geopolitical updates that may influence the direction of the PSX KSE-100 Index in the remainder of the trading day.
