The Sindh government has extended the deadline of the judicial commission investigating the Mir Raza murder case. The commission will now have until October 15 to submit its report.
The decision was approved during a Sindh Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in Karachi. The meeting reviewed the commission’s progress and considered its request for additional time.
The cabinet approved an extension for submitting the inquiry report until October 15. The extension will allow the commission more time to complete the remaining proceedings related to the Mir Raza murder case.
A briefing to the cabinet said the commission had conducted extensive proceedings so far. Statements from dozens of witnesses have already been recorded as part of the investigation.
The Sindh chief minister’s spokesperson said the commission had been given additional time to complete its investigation and prepare its recommendations. The extension is intended to allow the inquiry to proceed before the final report is submitted.
The judicial commission had earlier written to the authorities seeking an extension until October 15. The request was made to complete the recording of witness statements and finalize the commission’s report on the Mir Raza murder case.
Following the commission’s request, the Sindh Home Department prepared and forwarded a summary seeking an extension of the reporting deadline. The Sindh Cabinet subsequently approved the extension, giving the commission additional time to conclude its work.
