US-Iran Technical Talks

US-Iran Technical Talks Expected to Begin Within Days, Says Foreign Office

The next phase of US-Iran Technical Talks is expected to begin within days, according to officials from Pakistan’s Foreign Office. Authorities said the negotiations remain on schedule despite the cancellation of a previously planned signing ceremony in Switzerland.

Officials explained that the agreement between Washington and Tehran has already been formally signed, making an additional ceremonial event unnecessary. As a result, attention has shifted toward implementation and the technical discussions required to advance the agreement.

According to Foreign Office sources, the upcoming talks are considered a key part of the implementation process and are not expected to face postponement. Officials indicated that both sides are preparing to move forward with detailed discussions aimed at addressing practical and operational aspects of the agreement.

The second phase of broader diplomatic engagement is expected to take place after Muharram. Pakistani officials believe the continued dialogue demonstrates the commitment of both countries to maintaining momentum in the negotiation process and avoiding unnecessary delays.

Sources also revealed that the original plan involved senior officials gathering in Switzerland for a formal signing ceremony. However, the framework changed after the agreement was electronically endorsed by top leadership from the participating countries, removing the need for the event.

The planned Swiss gathering was initially expected to include senior representatives from the United States, Iran, and Pakistan. Once the agreement entered into force through electronic signatures, diplomatic efforts shifted toward implementation rather than ceremonial formalities.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar is expected to visit Egypt as regional consultations continue. Officials say US-Iran Technical Talks remain on track, with diplomatic engagement expected to intensify in the coming weeks as stakeholders work toward advancing the agreement and promoting regional stability.
