Pakistan national cricket team were bowled out for 232 runs in their first innings against Bangladesh national cricket team during the second Test match being played in Sylhet. Bangladesh secured a valuable 46-run lead after Pakistan failed to match the hosts’ first innings total.
Pakistan resumed the second day’s play at 21 without loss, but the top order collapsed quickly as both openers lost their wickets early. Azan Awais scored 13 runs, while Abdullah Fazal managed only 9 before returning to the pavilion.
Captain Shan Masood also failed to convert his start and was dismissed for 21 runs. Babar Azam was the top scorer for Pakistan with a fighting knock of 68 runs, while Saud Shakeel made 8 runs.
Middle-order batter Agha Salman contributed 21 runs, and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan added 13 runs before getting out.
Among the lower-order batters, Hasan Ali scored 18 runs, while Sajid Khan played a useful innings of 38 runs. Khurram Shahzad contributed 10 runs, whereas Mohammad Abbas was dismissed without scoring.
Earlier on the opening day, Bangladesh national cricket team were bowled out for 278 runs in their first innings. Litton Das starred with an impressive century, scoring 126 runs to help his side post a competitive total.
For Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad claimed four wickets, while Mohammad Abbas took three wickets. Hasan Ali picked up two wickets, and Sajid Khan added one to the tally.
Before the start of the match, Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and elected to field first. Bangladesh currently lead the two-match Test series 1-0 after defeating Pakistan by 104 runs in the opening Test match.
