Noreen Niazi statement

Noreen Niazi’s Remarks Do Not Reflect PTI Policy, Barrister Gohar Says

The Noreen Niazi statement on Marka-e-Haq does not represent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) official position, Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Tuesday. He clarified that the remarks were personal opinions and not the party’s policy.

Speaking to reporters in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said every Pakistani should feel proud of the country’s success in Marka-e-Haq. He added that Pakistan’s defence is strong and that no enemy can defeat the country.

Referring to the Noreen Niazi statement, the PTI chairman said the interview was, to the best of his knowledge, recorded around three months ago. He stressed that the comments reflected Noreen Niazi’s personal views and should not be interpreted as PTI’s official stance.

Barrister Gohar said the party has consistently sought to improve the overall political environment. He urged all stakeholders to avoid revisiting past controversies and instead focus on reducing tensions.

He also commented on recent remarks by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Barrister Gohar noted that the religious leader had already clarified his statement, adding that comments made in the heat of the moment can sometimes require clarification.

The PTI chairman further said some issues should be approached with restraint to help improve the country’s political atmosphere. He stressed that unnecessary public debate on sensitive matters should be avoided.

The Noreen Niazi statement has generated political discussion in recent days, but PTI has formally distanced itself from the remarks, reiterating that they do not reflect the party’s official policy.
