KP rains and flash floods claimed 12 lives and left 18 people injured during the past 48 hours, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The severe weather also damaged homes across several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PDMA said heavy rainfall and flash floods affected Nowshera, Khyber, Mardan and Buner. Weather-related incidents were also reported in Bajaur, Chitral, Lower Dir, Hazara Division, Kurram and North Waziristan.
According to the latest assessment, KP rains and flash floods damaged 18 houses across the province. Fifteen homes suffered partial damage, while three houses were completely destroyed due to heavy rain and floodwaters.
The report stated that 12 people lost their lives and 18 others sustained injuries in weather-related incidents during the last 48 hours. Authorities continue to assess losses in the affected areas.
Provincial officials said rescue and relief operations remain underway. Local administrations have been instructed to provide immediate assistance and essential relief supplies to affected families.
The PDMA urged residents to remain cautious as adverse weather conditions could continue. People living near rivers, streams and flood-prone areas have been advised to follow official safety instructions.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with district administrations to ensure timely relief efforts. The KP rains and flash floods have once again highlighted the risks posed by extreme weather during the monsoon season.
