United Arab Emirates presidential adviser Anwar Gargash has said that the Iran nuclear program concern has now become the region’s top priority, warning that it poses serious security and geopolitical risks.
In his statement, Anwar Gargash noted that Iran’s nuclear program was previously considered a secondary issue, but it has now moved to the forefront of regional security concerns. He said Iran’s military capabilities make the situation more complex and potentially dangerous.
He cautioned that any new phase of conflict between the United States and Iran could further destabilize the Middle East, with consequences extending beyond the region to Europe and global energy markets.
The Iran nuclear program concern is also closely linked to developments in the Strait of Hormuz, which remains a critical global shipping route. Gargash warned that any disruption in this area would have severe implications for both energy supply and international trade.
He urged European countries to treat the Strait of Hormuz not only as a regional issue but as a major economic and energy security concern that directly affects their own interests.
Gargash emphasized the importance of pursuing diplomatic solutions, but warned that diplomacy should not come at the cost of creating further instability or future complications in the region.
He also highlighted that the United States remains a central pillar of Gulf security strategies, stating that Washington continues to play a dominant role in defense planning across the region.
Analysts say the remarks reflect growing concern among Gulf states over escalating tensions involving Iran, particularly as nuclear, maritime, and geopolitical disputes continue to overlap.
