Hajj Pilgrim Numbers Surpass 2025 Despite Middle East War

Saudi Arabia has reported that Hajj pilgrim arrivals Saudi Arabia 2026 have surpassed last year’s figures, with more than 1.5 million international pilgrims already reaching the kingdom despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

According to Saudi officials, a total of 1,518,153 pilgrims have arrived from outside the country for this year’s Hajj season. The figure is expected to rise further as more pilgrims continue to reach the holy cities ahead of the official rituals.

The Hajj pilgrim arrivals Saudi Arabia 2026 show strong participation even amid regional instability caused by conflict and disruptions in air travel. The war-related tensions earlier in the year had impacted flight routes and increased travel costs across the region.

Officials noted that strikes and airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East created temporary challenges for airlines. However, carriers in the Gulf region, including the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, quickly restored operations to support travel demand.

Despite these difficulties, pilgrims from around the world have continued their journey to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, one of the most significant religious obligations in Islam. The steady flow highlights the resilience of travel arrangements and coordination efforts.

Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Passport Forces commander, Saleh Al-Murabba, confirmed the updated arrival figures during a press briefing. He added that numbers are expected to increase further as final groups arrive before the start of rituals on Monday.

The Hajj pilgrim arrivals Saudi Arabia 2026 underline the global importance of the pilgrimage, which requires strong logistical planning and international cooperation to accommodate millions of worshippers safely.
