K-P Announces Four-Day Public Holidays for Eidul Azha 2026

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially announced K-P Eidul Azha holidays 2026, declaring a four-day public holiday period across the province for the upcoming religious festival.

According to a notification issued on Saturday, all government offices, educational institutions, and private businesses will remain closed from May 26 to May 29, from Tuesday to Friday.

The K-P Eidul Azha holidays 2026 decision aligns with preparations for Eidul Azha, which will be observed on May 27 after the confirmed sighting of the Zilhajj moon by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

Earlier, the federal government had announced a three-day holiday period from May 26 to May 28, while Sindh also declared four days of public holidays for the festive occasion.

Officials said the extended holidays aim to facilitate citizens during Eid celebrations, allowing families more time for travel, sacrifice rituals, and religious observances.

However, authorities also cautioned that a heatwave forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department may affect the holiday period, with temperatures expected to remain significantly above normal in several regions.

The K-P Eidul Azha holidays 2026 announcement reflects coordinated provincial planning as citizens across the country prepare for one of the most important religious festivals in the Islamic calendar.
