According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), Israeli troops blew up multiple residential buildings in Aitaroun. The agency also reported an overnight explosion in Houla, located in the Marjayoun district, although officials did not specify what was targeted during the operation.
The latest incidents were accompanied by continued Israeli drone flights over Beirut’s southern suburbs. Residents in several areas reported the presence of unmanned aircraft, highlighting ongoing military surveillance despite diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions along the border.
The demolitions occurred despite a US-sponsored framework agreement signed on June 26 between Beirut and Tel Aviv. The agreement outlines a phased Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, beginning with two pilot zones, as part of broader efforts to maintain the ceasefire and reduce cross-border hostilities.
Lebanese officials and local observers have expressed concern over repeated military operations following the agreement. The continued activities have raised questions about the implementation of the ceasefire framework and the prospects for long-term stability in southern Lebanon.
Official figures indicate that Israeli military operations in Lebanon since March 2 have resulted in more than 4,300 deaths and over 12,000 injuries. Israeli forces also remain present in several areas of southern Lebanon, including territories held for decades and others captured during the 2023–2024 conflict.
